How to choose a Tally mobile app
There are several ways to get your TallyPrime books onto a phone. This guide explains how they work, the features that actually matter, and how to pick the right one for your business — so you don’t end up with a pretty dashboard that can’t do what you need.
On iPhone, sign up on the web first. The iOS app opens straight to sign‑in and can’t create a workspace — once yours exists, it signs in like any other device. Android can do either.

How Tally mobile apps work
There are different ways to access Tally away from the office, including a remote desktop, hosted Tally and a companion app. Nexvia Books uses a connector on the computer or supported server where Tally runs. It syncs selected data to a cloud workspace that its mobile app and browser interface can read.
The differences aren't in that plumbing — they're in what the app lets you do with the data, how faithfully it matches Tally, and how safe it is. Here's what to weigh.
The features that actually matter
- Faithful to Tally. Do the receivables, Bill-wise outstanding and GST invoices match your Tally screen to the rupee — or are they an approximation? Ask to see it on real data.
- Read-only by default. The connector should never edit or delete anything in Tally on its own. Any write-back should be limited to entries you explicitly record, after validation.
- Two-way, if you need it. Viewing is table stakes. Recording sales, purchases, receipts and payments from your phone — that post back into Tally — is where a tool earns its keep.
- Collections built in. WhatsApp reminders with statement PDFs and UPI links turn your outstanding into cash. This is often the biggest ROI.
- Access and privacy. Check workspace isolation, sign-in protection, user permissions, hosting location and the privacy policy. A hosting location alone does not establish legal compliance.
- Multi-company & multi-user. All your firms in one workspace, with staff and your accountant on scoped logins.
- Works with your setup. Normal Windows PC, headless server, or TallyPrime Cloud Access on Linux.
- Clear pricing. Compare the annual total including tax, user and device limits, optional modules and usage charges. Solo permits one user on one device; Team plans include up to five users.

How to decide
Start with what you actually want to do on the phone. If it's purely "let me glance at receivables", almost anything works. If you want to send reminders, share invoices, record entries and give your team scoped access — the safe, faithful, two-way tools are worth far more than a read-only dashboard.
